You’ve heard me say many times how important muscle strength is.  While it can get a bit repetative, it’s extremely important in the grand scheme of things. While we no longer live in the days of having to physically defend yourself and/or your territory every day, we cannot become complacent and lazy when it comes to muscle strength.  Read on if you would like more information on why muscle strength is so important to the body.

Life today is much different than the days of our ancestors.  We often stress about financial situations, retirement, social aspects, etc.  but we do not necessarily have to worry about physical threats as much as back in the “survival of the fittest” days.  This has made us complacent and somewhat lazy when it comes to maintaining muscle strength and peak physical performance.  No longer do we have to trap or catch our own food, we simply go down to the local supermarket or fast food joint to pick up our meals.

It’s important for us not to forget where we came from.  Muscle strength and physical ability still has a large role in our lives whether we realize it or not.  It’s important for us to exercise and continue to work our muscles to help prevent some types of diseases and illnesses.  This physical ability helps us maintain a stable metabolism and a slim figure, which is also important to not only preventing these diseases and illnesses, but it keeps us feeling energetic and gives us the ability to get things done rather than become lazy and sink into the couch.

Another thought is: what kind of position would you be in if something were to happen on a worldwide scale that forced you back into the “survival of the fittest” days?  Would you be able to hold your own, or would you succumb to the circumstances?  Just some food for thought…

Next time your struggling away in your muscle workout routine at the gym and think about throwing in the towel, keep these things in mind.  It’s important to keep yourself motivated, and pushing forward to new ground.  Your body and mind will appreciate it!
